The texture on this dress reminds me of flower petals.

Sweatshops
SWEATSHOPS

Before I started looking into sweatshops and finding out what they are really about, I had not decided whether I was for or against sweatshops. On one hand it is a way for the child to help provide for his/her family and bring home food and what little bit of money they make. On the other hand it is not fair or right for the children to have to work as hard as they do. When I first thought about sweatshops I didn't think there was much harm in them. It's a place for children to get a job and get work experience. I thought if children were working in sweatshops then they weren't being forced into prostitution or other things that could possible hurt them. Sweatshops would be a great way to keep children off the streets. The children would be able to stay out of trouble. Also they were helping their families income. They would be able to bring home a little food and money each day. It would be just enough to get the family by. Also sweatshops are great for Americans. Sweatshops help us to get nice clothes for cheap prices.
When I really started to look into sweatshops I realized how much these children suffer. The children who work in sweatshops are forced to endure hazardous situations, work with harmful materials, endure extreme heat, and sometimes are abused by their employers. The workers also have very little rights. These sweatshops are very dangerous. They are forced to work long hours for little or no pay. These children in foreign countries and even in America should not be forced to work in this type of environment. I think that America should do something about this serious issue. America should stop purchasing items that are made in sweatshops. Also the sweatshops in America should be periodically checked. The owners of the sweatshops should not be warned and the checks should be a surprise.

If i could get an outfit made for me...?
If i was getting an outfit made for me it would probably be a dress. I would like it to be white. It would probably be long and poofy at the bottom. It would be fitted up top. It would be spaghetti strap. It would be made out of satin with a little bit of sheer fabric at the top. It would have buttons down the back and more sheer fabric at the bottom trim. It would probably have a train and maybe a little lace.Friday, September 19, 2008
Trends in the New York Fashion Week
One of the prominent trends for the Spring 2009 Fashion week would have to be one shoulder dresses. Assymetry has been one of the main i
nterests of alot of the designers for quite some time now.
Max Azria looked at assymetry from a different angle with a one-shouldered, bias-cut gown with a front halter strap.(Silverman, 2008) The coral pink assymetrical dress was draped so beautifully that it gave the illusion that it was falling off the model, by design.(Silverman, 2008)
Marc Jacobs used his signature innovative style by walking a model down the catwalk in a original, single shoulder-baring top.(Silverman, 2008)
Nicole Miller layered a structured asymmetrical shift over a crisp shirt dress which made the look's mysterious workplace appropriate.(Silverman, 2008)

Organic Fabrics
There are many different designers who have recently begun to use organic fabrics when making clothes. These fabrics include organic cotton, hemp, soy, bamboo, polyester yarn, and pointelle. These fabrics are used in many different kinds of clothing.

Coco Chanel

Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel was born on August 19th 1883. Chanel's stylish and chic designs changed the world of fashion in the 1910s. The classy Chanel suit was launched in 1924. The Chanel suit was an chic outfit which consisted of a knee-length skirt with a matching trim, a boxy jacket, made of woven wool with black trim and gold buttons and worn with large costume-pearl necklaces. Then she became famous for her version of the littler black dress. The design of the dress made it good for day and night. It was strapless, backless, and was definately risque. Everyone was shocked at first but then it became a fashion sensation. It appeard in the third addition of Playboy. She then went on to design jewlery and handbags. Her perfume Chanel No. 5 was what made her a millionaire. It was created in 1921 by Ernest Beaux. Her famous double c logo was inspired by the Chateau de Cremat. Chanel lived along life and changed fashion forever. On January 10th 1971, Chanel died.
Coco Chanel is my favorite designer because of the influence she has had on the fashion industry. What girl has never needed to wear a little black dress and not felt sexy. Her handbags and jewelry are worn by women of all ages all over the world. Her clothes are beautiful and original. The memory of Coco Chanel will more than likely live on forever.
